Who's Who At St Christopher's Church

Tom Thomas
Tom Thomas

My name is Tom Thomas and I have been at St Christopher's since January 2010, first as Associate Vicar, then from July 2011 as priest-in-charge and then from January 2015 as Vicar.

It's been a journey through these different steps, but all along it's been encouraging to receive confirmation from God and St Christopher's that this is the right place to be.

St Christopher's is a wonderful church family set amidst a rich, diverse and sometimes challenging community. I am married to Joanna and have two children, Eve and Aisha. I enjoy reading, hill-walking, eating Asian food and watching Liverpool FC.

Kam Kaur
Kam Kaur

We are delighted to have Kam Kaur working as our Parish Missioner. Kam has been trained through the Mission Apprentice programme run by Birmingham Diocese as part of their Transforming Church process.

Kam began this role in April 2012 and works half-time to build relationships with local women, seeking to serve and support them and as the moments arise to share the message of Jesus with them.

She is passionate that the liberating message which she received and which changed her life is offered to other women in a similar position to the one she was in when she first came to faith.

I'm Debbie and I am the Children’s and Families’ Missioner, a part-time appointment shared with St John’s Church, Sparkhill. This role is part of a diocesan wide team in the ‘Growing Younger’ initiative, seeking to engage with 0-11s and their families in new ways.

Every parish will look different in how they envision this work, but it’s all about blessing families through serving them, offering a glimpse of who Jesus is and God’s great love for all.

My family and I are members of St Christopher’s, and I have worked with children and families in some way or other for nearly 30 years, which means I am older than you may think…

PCC
PCC

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) of St Christopher's is the body charged with the overall responsibility of ensuring that St Christopher's continues its work, witness and worship to the very best of our ability under God. It is drawn from faithful members of the congregation and meets roughly once every two months.

The PCC has to look at practical issues such as finance, legal requirements, buildings, etc but it is also a group where we try to dream dreams about what the Spirit of God might be calling us to do as His people in Springfield. We want to be people of vision and spiritual passion as well as good stewards of what we have been given.
